Ice Ultra – The World’s Toughest Race?

Imagine running 230 kilometers. Now imagine doing it north of the Arctic Circle in February in extreme temperatures. Ice Ultra is part of the Beyond the Ultimate series, a series of extremely challenging races organized in demanding environments around the world.

Ice Ultra is a 230-kilometer ultra race held annually in Jokkmokk. A competition that largely runs through the Laponia World Heritage site and places extremely high demands on participants. Temperatures down to -40°C are not uncommon, but for participants, it’s also a magical experience to traverse the Arctic midwinter landscape on foot.
